Good morning! Pastor Lamb and St. James Lutheran have invited Rev. Katherine Finegan, Bishop of our Northern Great Lakes Synod, to offer the sermon for this 2nd Sunday of the season of Easter. Here is her sermon and today’s reading from the gospel of John. Bishop Finegan offers a new perspective on the apostle Thomas who had to “see” before believing.

Thanks giving to our Lord for Pastor Lamb, our church leaders and congregation.
We praise You, O Lord, for welcoming us through the words of all those who bring to us the Good News of Your love. Place that faith-creating Word on our lips, that we may speak to those who have not yet heard or believed. Amen. He is Risen ! Alleluia!

Prayer for the world
Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us. Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory for ever and ever. Amen.
Heavenly Father creator of all things,
God, You alone are worthy of honor, glory, and praise. With You, we can overcome every storm—including COVID-19.
Right now, we are asking You to:
• Heal those who are sick and protect those who are not.
• Give our leaders extra wisdom as they navigate this pandemic and economic uncertainty.
• Strengthen Your global Church. Reveal to us how we can partner together to reach the needs of those around us.
• Calm our fears. Fill us with Your hope, joy, and peace as we continue to trust in You.
• Use this pandemic to pave the way for spiritual renewal. We want Your glory, power, and healing to be on display.
Come Lord Jesus, come.
In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
